Powerful Mornings

October 9, 2023

I've always been an early riser. I just haven't always been very productive first thing in the morning. I like to get up at 6:30-7:00 am and just take it slow. Those of you who've been keeping up with my blog know I started 75 Hard today!

Today was different. Today I woke up and got dressed--not strolled over to the couch in my pajamas and slippers and robe to sip a tea and do essentially nothing before 9:00 am. Getting to the gym and working out first thing definitely makes for a different energy in the morning.

Now as I sit here to write, I am getting to sip that tea, and feel better than I usually do this time of day. I've downed 40 oz of water, completed a work out, read my book and already felt the transformational shift take place in my psyche.

Walking out of the gym this morning I got to see the sun glisten on the pavement. It was quite beautiful, and since I went in when it was still dark out, it was kind of like a present for finishing my first workout of this challenging journey.

Perspective changes when you feel you have less time. I'm at my desk writing like I usually am right now, but what's different is already accomplishing so much more than I would most days. And definitely more than I would by this hour. I was quite concerned with how I was going to do all the things, and what I'm already starting to realize is how much time in a day I have gained just by waking up at the same time I always do and actually GOING vs. LOUNGING.

Emails aren't important at 7:00 am. Facebook isn't important either. Getting that 'I'm doing something that is beneficial to my health and wellbeing' vibe is certainly a powerful way to start your morning. I'm so fortunate my body is healthy, my mind is strong, my heart is filled with love and my soul is nourished by such incredible people who support and encourage me.

Thank you! And I do mean YOU!
